Welcome to HE SAID - SHE SAID, a unique critique of Fox Valley events. Our goal is to provide a perspective, in a very useful way. We figured out something recently, something scientists have known for a long time. It seems that some people use their left hemisphere, some, their right. Men are from Mars, Women, from Venus - or so the story goes. But you need not worry about any of that here, because we cover it all - from the male point of view as well as the female point of view. So read, absorb and enjoy... And try NOT to choose sides! |

S: Austin, you had your first ice skating lesson. I have to say, you weren’t bad, kid.
H: I did fall down a few times but the teachers guided me along the way.
S: You mean, they helped you up?
H: No, they helped prevent me from falling, They told me to keep my feet straight and let me know the best way to get up when I did fall down.
S: Did you like having a small class size?
H: Yes, because the teachers can help teach the children better.
S: Your teacher seemed very nice. I think she must really like what she does. What do you think?
H: Yes, it seemed like all the teachers were nice.
S: After Austin’s lesson we did the free skate for a while. There weren’t too many people there, thank goodness. I haven’t had skates on for . . . let’s just say it’s been a while. I liked the skates they have at Tri County Ice Arena. They seemed to be more sturdy than the ones I grew up with.
H: It was a fun experience to skate with my mom.
S: Everyone seemed so friendly and willing to help. Pat, especially, was helpful. She must like her job a lot; it shows. With so much going on she still made everyone feel like they were the only ones around when talking with her. Pat answered all my questions and offered me information about their facility and what Tri County Ice Arena has to offer. The “Skate With Us” program is sponsored by the United States Figure Skating Association. The USFSA is the “official national governing body of figure skating on ice as recognized by the United States Olympic Committee and the International Skating Union.
I know, that sounds like a mouthful, but it’s important to know that you or your child is in very good hands with the staff at the Tri County Ice Arena. All teachers are thoroughly certified to be working with people of all ages.
S:
Do you think this is something kids should try at least once?
H: Yes, this is a fun-filled experience for the a small or large family.
S: And....if you didn’t get enough of the ice under your feet, get a slushy from the concession stand. They are the best, aren’t they, Austin?
H: mmmmm, good
