Welcome to HE SAID - SHE SAID, a unique critique of Fox Valley events. Our goal is to provide a perspective, in a very useful way. We figured out something recently, something scientists have known for a long time. It seems that some people use their left hemisphere, some, their right. Men are from Mars, Women, from Venus - or so the story goes. But you need not worry about any of that here, because we cover it all - from the male point of view as well as the female point of view. So read, absorb and enjoy... And try NOT to choose sides! |

Banks' Dentistry.
Banks' Dentistry is located at
810 S Commercial St in Neenah. For more information on their services, visit their website.
My first thought when I walked into Bank’s Dentistry was that it felt like a cozy bed and breakfast foyer. Fireplace, floral carpeting, decorations (including heart wreaths) …and a friendly face to greet you. This would be a great place to take kids and adults who are apprehensive about that “doctor’s office” feel. You sit down, look around and feel calm and relaxed. I was asked to fill in a personal health chart and then led to a room where I would get my x-rays from the technician. Valentine’s Day was upcoming and the theme carried from the foyer into this room. You look at all decorations and out the window (nice view) and, again, feel very relaxed.
Dr. Banks came in to go over my x-rays with me. He was very thorough and took his time explaining what they meant. Everything looked pretty good but he had his assistant write a few notes about keeping an eye on a few particular teeth that might need attention at a later date.
Next I was led to a room nearby (nice change of scenery) with more windows to the outside. Again, cool things to look at for kids and adults. I unscrambled the words on the ceiling and felt a great sense of accomplishment. I need to find out where they got the whimsical piece that hangs from the ceiling and rotates a glass ball around spinning wire.
My point is that while the Dr. Banks and the technician’s are doing their job, you are so busy checking out your surroundings you sort of forget you are there to get your teeth taken care of. They do all the work while you relax and take your mind off the fact that you are in a doctor’s office.
If you are over the age of 18, Dr. Banks asks that you to come in for an initial visit. He takes a good look at your teeth and determines what kind of cleaning you will need. Perhaps you haven’t been to the dentist for a while. Dr. Banks and his staff carefully assess the care you will need. A follow up visit is required to schedule the appropriate cleaning. After that, you can come in and get your teeth examined and cleaned on the same day. Kids can come in any time to get their teeth looked at and cleaned on the same day. And don’t worry, they accept many types of insurance and are happy to answer your questions.
I was impressed with Dr. Gary Banks credentials. Read them. You will be impressed, to say the least. You expect your dentist to be qualified but Dr. Gary Banks goes beyond that. Besides his degree in dentistry (Marquette) he is a Veteran who has worked with children overseas and locally, providing them with dental care. A former Eagle Scout Dr. Gary is involved in our community on many levels. He has broke ground for procedures many dentists now use on a regular basis. He’s professional yet personable, just like the rest of his staff.
So, take the time to do something good for yourself. Your teeth should last you the rest of your life. Make sure you are getting them taken care of the very best they can be. Let Dr. Gary Bank’s and his staff take the pressure off “wondering” if your teeth are in good shape. Let them assure you that your teeth will be clean and healthy when you leave. Be confident that your smile is in some of the best hands in the Fox Valley. Besides enjoying the experience of going to the dentist (yes, that is possible here) you will leave with a smile to be proud of.
