
Quick Start Guide For Advertisers
Note: If you have already set up an account, please skip to number 3 below. If you clicked a link in the customer portal, you have already set up your account and can skip to number 3 below.
If your package includes the ability to create and modify COUPONS, click HERE for coupon help and instructions related to creating, changing and deleting coupons.
1. Create a free account by choosing "Advertise" from the upper left side of thecommunitypage.com, then click "Advertise". You can also browse to http://www.thecommunitypage.com/dir/signup/view. Write down the username and password you chose.
2. Log in to your account by clicking "Proceed to Login". (You can return to the login page at any time by clicking "Log In" on the upper left side of our main page or by browsing to http://www.thecommunitypage.com/login/)
3. Once you are logged in, click "Select a Package to Purchase"
4. You must choose a package A, B, C, D or E first before adding additional categories or web sites. Choose a package to purchase, and click the PayPal button. For your convenience, your listing will be entered as a twelve month subscription, but can be cancelled at any time.

When the transaction is completed, a "Thank You" screen will appear with a link back to the Customer Portal at TheCommunityPage.com. Your payment should be registered immediately, and your account at TheCommunityPage.com will be instantly activated. Once your account is activated, you will be able to edit your new listings. If your account does not activate, or if you wish to purchase using a method other than PayPal, please contact TheCommunityPage.com directly by email.
5. Proceed to the customer portal and click "View or update your current listings". You will see a list of packages you have ordered. Click the EDIT link and follow the instructions to update your listing.
6. Be sure to pick a category for your business. A category is where your business will be listed, so please make sure to choose the most appropriate category for your particular business. Ask yourself the question "If I were looking for my product or service, which category would I click on?"
7. Make sure your business name, address, telephone number, etc. is correct as this information will be displayed in your listing.
8. In the "OFFER TEXT" field, you can enter a special offer or company slogan to be displayed under your listing!
9. Now type your web site address in "Site URL" . Include the entire site address such as http://www.yoursitename.com. Check your typing and verify your link!
10. Now choose which map you prefer for directions. If you prefer to have people go to your own directions page, you can choose "Use Above URL" and enter the web page address in the "Directions URL" box. Don't worry if that confuses you. Just pick MapQuest or Google Maps and you'll be fine!
If your business has multiple locations and you have a web site listing the different locations, you can enter the page address underneath "Directions Source" in the "Locations URL" field. Most businesses will not use this field.
IF YOU ARE A RESTAURANT and wish to make your menu available online, you can enter the web address of your menu in the "Menu URL" box. This feature is ONLY for restaurants.
11. Make sure your status is set to LIVE, then click UPDATE. Your listing will now display all your changes!
Your listing will now appear in the category you chose! You can login (Step 2) at any time to update your listing, change information, modify coupons, change your advertising slogan, etc.

Congratulations! You did it!
For your convenience, all listings are set up as 12 month subscriptions. Subscriptions are recurring payments that are automatically re billed once each year. You can cancel a PayPal subscription at any time - which will stop all future charges to your account instantly.
If you would like to cancel this subscription, simply log in to your PayPal account and go to the "History" subtab of the "My Account" tab. Choose "Subscriptions" from the pull-down "Show" menu and press the "Submit" button.
Choose this subscription, and click on its "Details."
You will be taken to a Transaction Details page from which you may cancel your subscription. Click the "Cancel Subscription" button at the bottom of the page.
Canceling your subscription will immediately stop all future scheduled payments for this subscription.
