Dr. Gary Banks is a 1970 graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry. A native of Neenah, he established his practice at its present location on S. Commercial St, in 1972, after completing two years of active duty in the Army Dental Corps. He is a Viet Nam and Desert Storm Veteran and is retired from the Reserves after 20 years of service. Through outreach programs in the Army Reserves, Dr. Banks has worked with Vietnamese children and the Oneida Tribe Indians, helping provide them with dental care. Dr. Banks and his wife Jan have three grown sons and are grandparents of two. Currently, he holds membership in the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, and Winnebago County Dental Association.
“I have been going to Dr. Banks since 1993. I’m ashamed to say that I had neglected my teeth for years because I’M A BIG BABY! When a piece of tooth chipped off, I had no choice but to find a dentist. His Yellow Pages ad, listing “Light Touch Dentistry” got my attention. I called and “confessed” my phobia. After talking with his wife, Jan, who took my call, I decided that if I HAD to go to the dentist, this would be the one.
“It was a nice surprise to find that since the last time I had been to a dentist, there were a lot of new techniques and equipment in place. I started out having the nitrous gas for several visits but with Dr. Banks’ “light touch” and patience, I no longer need it. Being a senior citizen, there has been quite a bit of catch-up to do and I can count on him and his team to use the newest procedures, including a good deal of preventative measures.
“My only complaint is that Dr. Banks usually talks about interesting things but I’m not able to join in the conversation (hand in mouth, ect.)!”

“I was asked to write a review and I didn’t hesitate.
“I have had several dentists over the years and really didn’t ever want to see another one. I have passed Banks’ Dentistry pretty much every other day going to work and kept saying to myself, maybe I should try my neighborhood dentist. Of course this was the story day after day until one day at work I did just that, and called them.
“Pulling out the phone book to get the number, I was feeling a little reluctant. I kept thinking, what if this dental office was the same as all the rest. After two rings, the receptionist answered and I started telling her my story. After she had answered all of my questions, I actually felt relieved, and made an appointment.
“The big day came and here I was in their parking lot, yeah, I was nervous but I had to do it. Getting out of my truck and walking up the sidewalk to the front door really didn’t make me feel any better. Opening the door, and not knowing what to expect, I was surprised to see another door. After opening the second door , that familiar voice was heard again “ Good Morning Al!”, I turned towards her voice and finally put a face to the person who convinced ME to come in. There was Kate with a huge smile. After talking again, and filling out all the forms, I actually felt relaxed, then again there was that last door to walk through where the actual work gets done.
“Just a short time later my name was called, and off I go, not knowing what to expect. Erin, the Dental Assistant, also greeted me with a big smile and made me feel even more relaxed. Then it was time to meet Dr. Banks, for some reason I felt I was a part of the family. I have never been to a dental office so full of people that care about you and only you. There was no talking about last nights activities, their attention was focused on me.
“I had to make another appointment, but never felt any doubts or nervousness about making it. I’ll tell you, I lost my fear about going to the dentist, weather its just a check-up, or having work done, they make you feel so relaxed.
“Yes, I have found my dentist and they were always right around the corner. Have the same story as mine, do what I did, just sit down , pick up the phone and give Banks’ Dentistry a call. You’ll never go to anyone else, I know I won’t.”

Teeth Whitening
What a wonderful, uplifting feeling I have when I look in the mirror in the morning! My beautiful smile brightens my day! I can’t believe the difference from when Dr. Banks started to fix up my mouth. He was even able to “straighten” a tooth with a crown. By the time he finished I had the whitest brightest smile!
One hour sitting comfortably in the dental chair and my teeth changed 4 shades! Talk about white! I am so thrilled! Kate told me everything that she was going to do and there were no surprises.
I feel so good about myself. I’m more confident and can take pride in my looks. It is so much easier to work with the public when I feel confident about my smile. I know that looks aren’t everything but they sure help. Thank you, Dr. Banks for my “make over”
